Job description
The Tax Specialist at Core42, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, will work closely with the line manager to ensure Core42ās tax interests are upheld. The role involves supporting the internal tax team, focusing on UAE tax matters such as corporate tax, transfer pricing, and VAT, and extending to international tax issues across the US, Europe, and other jurisdictions. The specialist will provide support in interpreting and applying UAE Corporate Tax legislation, managing VAT processes including return preparation and submission, and ensuring tax compliance with returns, transfer pricing documentation, audit support, and record maintenance. Responsibilities also include drafting internal technical documentation, monitoring legislative developments, supporting cross-border tax initiatives, and aiding in Pillar Two/GloBE rule compliance and CbCR. The role involves reviewing deliverables from external consultants, preparing documentation and presentations, and liaising with tax authorities and consultants. Strong proficiency in UAE and international tax, treaties, and frameworks is essential, along with qualifications like CA, ACCA, or CPA. Experience with US and EU tax legislation is advantageous.

Key responsibilities
- Provide support in interpreting and applying UAE Corporate Tax legislation and associated regulations
- Assist in collation of data and coordination with external consultants on VAT matters, including preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Support tax compliance activities including tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, entity classification, audit assistance, and records maintenance
- Contribute to development of internal technical memoranda, guidance documents, and tax implications assessments
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate their impact
- Support cross-border taxation initiatives involving transfer pricing, treaty application, and tax structuring
- Assist in data collection and analysis for Pillar Two/GloBE compliance and CbCR
- Review and summarize deliverables from external consultants on international tax matters
- Prepare documentation, working papers, and presentation materials for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with line manager to engage with local tax authorities and external consultants to ensure regulatory compliance
Experience & skills
- Hold a qualification as Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA); additional tax specialisation preferred
- Have 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in international tax, ideally from a Big-4 firm or multinational company
- Demonstrate proficiency in the UAE tax landscape
- Possess strong knowledge of international tax frameworks, treaties, and transfer pricing rules
- Exhibit analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Have experience or practical knowledge of US and EU tax legislations
