Specialist – Taxation (Emiratised) role based in Abu Dhabi within a banking and financial services environment focused on UAE corporate taxation and regulatory compliance. The role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of Group UAE Corporate Tax computations and analysis in accordance with UAE tax regulations. It involves working closely with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Group Tax team to prepare corporation tax schedules, coordinate financial reporting data, and reconcile balances using Oracle and SumX systems. The position requires managing tax-related data submission through the AmaraTax portal and ensuring all required tax documentation is maintained to withstand scrutiny from tax authorities. The role includes handling queries from regulatory bodies such as the UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Federal Tax Authority (FTA), ensuring timely responses and compliance with statutory requirements. It supports the Group Head of Tax in addressing ongoing direct tax matters, audits, and regulatory enquiries. The position also involves identifying tax risks, logging gaps into risk registers, assisting in tax policy development across business lines, and ensuring adherence to internal tax governance frameworks. The role requires maintaining updated knowledge of UAE tax regulations, participating in new product approvals with tax input, supporting finance and business teams with tax analysis, and ensuring proper documentation retention for audit readiness. It operates in a high-pressure financial environment requiring accuracy, regulatory awareness, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing UAE Corporate Tax computations, tax schedules, and financial analysis in accordance with UAE tax regulations under guidance of AVP and Group Tax team
- Coordinate with financial reporting teams to reconcile Oracle and SumX balances and ensure accuracy of tax-related financial data
- Manage submission of tax information through the AmaraTax portal and ensure compliance with UAE tax filing requirements
- Maintain complete and accurate tax documentation to ensure readiness for UAE Federal Tax Authority and regulatory audits
- Respond to queries raised by UAE Ministry of Finance and Federal Tax Authority in a timely and compliant manner
- Support Group Head of Tax in resolving ongoing direct tax issues, audit findings, and historical tax matters across the organization
- Assist in identifying tax gaps, logging risks into tax risk registers, and contributing to development and updates of tax policies across business lines
- Support finance and business teams with tax analysis, participate in new product approval processes, and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations
Experience & skills
- Relevant academic qualifications in Accounting or Taxation such as ACCA, AAT, or UAE Corporate Income Tax certification
- Minimum first-degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as accounting, finance, or taxation
- General financial accounting experience with exposure to corporate tax processes
- Some experience in corporate taxation preferably within banking or financial services industry
- Understanding of UAE tax regulations and familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines in a structured and unstructured environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial and tax documentation for audit purposes
