Job description
GEMS Our Own English High School â Al Ain is seeking a Whole School Vice Principal to join in August 2025. The ideal candidate will support and deputize for the Principal in driving school improvement, overseeing academic and operational excellence, and promoting a culture of high performance and student well-being. The Vice Principal will be instrumental in leading the SEF, SDP, curriculum, and staff performance, while ensuring alignment with GEMS Education standards and ADEK requirements. This is a high-impact role requiring a collaborative leader with deep experience in CBSE or dual curriculum schools.

- Support and uphold the ethos and standards of GEMS Education.
- Lead the development and implementation of the SEF and School Development Plan (SDP).
- Oversee curriculum planning and adaptation to meet diverse student needs.
- Drive performance management processes and staff development plans.
- Ensure high academic standards across all phasesâPrimary and Secondary.
- Manage budgets and support school operations delegated by the Principal.
- Take shared or full leadership of the school in the Principalâs absence.
- Lead professional development to raise teaching and learning quality.
- Promote the school within the community and maintain a high public profile.
- Ensure effective use of MIS and contribute to financial, admissions, and enrollment planning.
- Enhance student care and well-being initiatives across the school.
- Lead or contribute to initiatives that drive continuous school improvement.
Experience & skills
- Masterâs Degree in Education or a relevant field with a valid teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of educational experience with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Prior experience in CBSE or dual curriculum schools in the UAE is highly beneficial.
- NPQH or similar senior leadership qualification preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in educational technology and school management systems.
- A team-oriented leader with a commitment to high standards and student success.
- Eligible for ADEK approval and willing to undergo DBS or equivalent police clearance.
