Job description
The Assistant IT Manager at Fairmont The Red Sea is responsible for supporting the planning, operation, and continuous enhancement of hotel IT systems within a luxury and sustainable resort environment. Working closely with the Director of IT and hotel leadership, this role ensures the reliability, security, and optimal performance of all IT infrastructure and systems, including PMS, POS, networks, servers, telephony, Wi-Fi, and end-user devices. The position supports hotel operations by assisting with technical troubleshooting, system integrations, IT security policy implementation, backups, disaster recovery procedures, and vendor coordination. The Assistant IT Manager monitors system performance, escalates issues proactively, assists with system upgrades, testing, and pre-opening IT activities, and provides user access management, training, and support. The role also requires compliance with Accor IT standards, cybersecurity requirements, and local regulations, maintaining data protection, confidentiality, and information security. Candidates should have hotel IT experience, preferably in luxury or pre-opening projects, with strong knowledge of PMS, POS, networking, servers, and cybersecurity, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The position demands regional experience, flexible hours, and alignment with ultra-luxury guest expectations.

Key responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of all hotel IT systems including PMS, POS, networks, servers, telephony, Wi-Fi, and end-user devices
- Assist in maintaining system availability, performance, and security across all hotel departments
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
- Support system integrations between PMS, POS, Finance, Sales, F&B, and third-party applications
- Assist in implementing and maintaining IT security policies, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor system performance, escalate issues proactively, and minimize operational downtime
- Support new system implementations, upgrades, patches, and testing activities
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset registers, licenses, and configuration records
- Assist with vendor coordination, service contracts, and support agreements
- Support user access management, onboarding/offboarding processes, and provide basic system training to hotel colleagues
- Act as deputy to IT Manager when required, supporting leadership and decision-making
- Maintain strong communication with department heads to support operational technology needs
- Ensure compliance with Accor IT standards, cybersecurity requirements, and local regulations
Experience & skills
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel IT operations with assistant-level or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems including PMS (Opera preferred) and POS systems
- Experience with network infrastructure, servers, Wi-Fi solutions, and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Familiarity with system integrations, cloud-based applications, and vendor management
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including on-call support
- Understanding of ultra-luxury guest expectations and brand alignment
- Experience in pre-opening hotel IT projects is a plus
- Regional experience in hospitality IT operations
