Job description
Senior leadership at Doha British School's Ain Khaled campus runs through the Principal and the Head of Secondary, and this Assistant Headteacher joins that team. Teaching and learning quality across the secondary phase is a central focus, with high expectations for every learner. The campus offers the National Curriculum of England adapted to Qatar's culture and values, plus IGCSE, AS/A Levels, the IB Diploma and BTEC. Staff development and coaching help keep teaching outstanding, supported by CPD partnerships with Evidence Based Education. Character development and pastoral care sit at the centre of school life, so leadership extends well beyond the classroom. A teaching load continues alongside leadership duties, drawing on exceptional subject knowledge. Extracurricular contribution to the wider school community is expected. Candidates need a Bachelor's in Education or equivalent, a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate and at least four years of teaching experience, including IGCSE, AS/A Level and IB. A Master's in Education is preferred, NPQSL or equivalent leadership training is desirable, and appointment depends on an enhanced DBS check.
