The Networking Presales Consultant role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is an onsite technical and customer-facing sales engineering position focused on providing advanced networking solution design and technical consulting aligned with HPE Networking portfolio and Juniper Technologies. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert in networking domains such as Mobility, Security, Branch networking, and enterprise network architecture, delivering end-to-end technical designs that meet customer business and technical requirements. The consultant applies deep knowledge of unstructured data markets and networking technologies to articulate proposals, define key differentiators, and ensure alignment between HPE solutions and customer ecosystems. The role requires tracking industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to inform customer engagements and strengthen solution positioning. Responsibilities include designing network architectures, participating in deep-dive technical discussions, delivering value propositions, and balancing cost, scope, scale, and business benefits. The role supports account planning, pipeline development, opportunity identification, and collaboration with account teams and partners to drive business growth. It requires maintaining strong professional relationships with customer technical teams and executives, leveraging consultative selling, storytelling, and technical persuasion. The consultant contributes to conferences, industry events, demos, and technical content development, while documenting sales cycle activities and sharing best practices. The role operates within indirect sales models and requires strong business acumen, financial understanding, and ability to link technical solutions to customer business outcomes. The position emphasizes proactive opportunity identification including upselling, cross-selling, and identifying unmet customer needs. It also includes mentoring junior team members and collaborating across cross-functional sales and engineering teams to deliver optimized networking solutions in enterprise environments.

Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end networking solutions aligned with customer business and technical requirements using HPE Networking and Juniper technologies
- Engage in deep-dive technical discussions with customers to define solution architecture, key differentiators, and value propositions
- Track and analyze industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging networking technologies to enhance solution positioning
- Collaborate with account teams and partners to develop sales strategies, pipeline opportunities, and account growth initiatives
- Participate in account business planning and support development of proposals, RFP responses, and high-level solution designs
- Identify upselling, cross-selling, and new business opportunities within assigned accounts and territories
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer technical teams and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction
- Contribute to conferences, demos, industry events, and technical presentations while documenting sales activities and sharing best practices
- Support junior team members and share technical expertise to enhance overall team capability
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 3–5 years of experience in network technologies with a strong focus on Juniper technologies and enterprise networking solutions
- Apply deep technical knowledge of networking architecture, solution design, and IT infrastructure environments
- Possess strong consultative and value-based selling skills including whiteboarding, customer presentations, and objection handling
- Hold a first-level university technical degree or equivalent technical qualification, with advanced degree preferred
- Understand indirect sales models including partner engagement and channel collaboration strategies
- Exhibit strong business and financial acumen including pipeline management, reporting, and sales cycle understanding
- Communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders using storytelling and persuasive communication techniques
- Hold industry certifications in networking or relevant technologies (preferred but not mandatory)
