Job description
CBUAE regulations frame much of the work for Orient Takaful's Head of Internal Audit, who provides independent, objective assurance on governance, risk management and internal controls across the company and its subsidiaries. Part of the Al-Futtaim Group, the business needs an audit function that stays fully independent, with no involvement in designing, implementing or operating internal controls. A risk-based annual audit plan, approved by the Board Audit Committee, covers IT, finance, operations and compliance. Findings go straight to the Board Audit Committee without management filtering. Effectiveness of the Three Lines Model across business, risk and compliance, and audit is evaluated independently. The Internal Audit Charter needs maintaining and reviewing at least every 3 years, and external auditors and regulators are regular points of contact. At least five years of internal or external audit experience in insurance or another financial institution is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, auditing, risk management, insurance or a related field. CIA, CPA, ACCA or CISA designations are strongly preferred, and CII or ACII qualifications would be an advantage.
