Job description
The Engineer, Access, Transport Onboarding & Acceptance role is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of evaluation and onboarding activities for all new network elements in line with the yearly plan within a telecommunications environment. The role ensures proper evaluation of new networks through participation in RFP processes, network design, development, and laboratory testing, while maintaining continuous communication with Network Operations through regular progress reporting. The position defines, maintains, and updates all processes related to network evaluation and onboarding to minimize outage risks and post-onboarding cost overruns, ensures compliance with regulatory, statutory, and internal governance requirements, and defines service standards and SLAs aligned with business objectives. The role also coordinates security risk assessments, acts as a domain risk advisor for Service Operations, evaluates VA scan reports, manages vulnerability mitigation for telecom and IT systems, oversees software upgrade and patching compliance, serves as the Service Operations SPOC for internal control observations, and supports internal and external audits and organizational improvement initiatives.

- Engage proactively in negotiations with key partners when required
- Define, maintain, update, and ensure effectiveness of processes related to network evaluation and onboarding
- Minimize risks of service outages and post-onboarding cost overruns through effective process governance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and internal governance requirements
- Define and manage service standards and SLAs aligned with business objectives
- Coordinate and support security risk assessments and risk management reviews for Service Operations
- Act as Domain Risk Advisor for Service Operations in coordination with security teams
- Evaluate VA scan reports and coordinate vulnerability mitigation with planning teams for telecom and IT systems
- Ensure compliance with software upgrade and patching processes across all network nodes and systems
- Serve as Service Operations SPOC for internal control observations raised by internal audit teams
- Support administrative and functional requirements for audits and organizational improvement projects
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, IT, or telecom-equivalent discipline
- Possess 10–15 years of experience in the telecommunications or hi-tech industry
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of ISO and TL9000 frameworks
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of ITIL framework
- Show experience managing governance, compliance, and financial controls in telecom environments
- Exhibit experience coordinating security risk assessments and vulnerability management activities
