Job description
The Associate Director ā Corporate Tax is a senior-level role responsible for managing and delivering international corporate tax advisory projects. This includes acting as the key client contact, leading tax engagements, generating new business opportunities, managing proposal processes, and building strong internal and external networks. The role also includes mentoring and developing junior team members, driving business development efforts, ensuring risk compliance, and contributing to practice management and financial health. The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in international corporate tax, M&A tax, and tax policy, combined with leadership and strategic project management capabilities.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the key point of contact for assigned tax clients.
- Undertake business development with existing and potential clients to generate projects and revenue.
- Participate in proposal development including strategy, pricing, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality tax engagements for review by senior management.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with clients in the manager's portfolio.
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams, network offices, and external legal/investment stakeholders.
- Coordinate multi-office engagements and review contributions for timely senior review.
- Ensure adherence to risk processes and consult risk team when deviations occur.
- Maintain up-to-date practice management including timesheets, billing, collections, and engagement documentation.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of junior staff.
- Manage teams effectively through delegation, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate with partner/director group on client and team matters.
- Contribute to formal training programs and mentor team members.
- Communicate regularly with leadership on key aspects including clients, people, and risk.
Experience & skills
- Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA) or legal qualification.
- 6 to 8 years of international corporate tax consulting experience.
- Expertise in international corporate tax, M&A tax, fund structuring, and tax risk management.
- Knowledge of tax accounting, transfer pricing, and international executive services.
- Experience in client relationship management and business development.
- Proficiency in risk management processes and documentation.
- Strong practice management capabilities including understanding of KPIs and financials.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills including tax reports and structure papers.
- Project management experience across multi-jurisdictional teams.
- Ability to identify cross-selling opportunities and contribute to firm-wide growth strategies.
