Job description
The (Senior) Development Manager – AI Products & Solutions is responsible for leading engineering teams to design and deliver scalable AI-enabled platforms and products. This role involves managing the full software development lifecycle, including roadmap planning, sprint execution, release management, and stakeholder engagement. The Development Manager will guide teams building machine learning applications, LLM-powered features, and scalable cloud-based services. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to balance innovation with operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring experience delivering AI-driven solutions, building high-performing engineering teams, and driving adoption of AI capabilities that address real customer needs.

Key responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams in building AI-enabled products and scalable platforms. The Development Manager is responsible for guiding technical teams through the full development lifecycle, including planning, execution, and delivery of AI-based solutions. This includes overseeing backend services, data pipelines, machine learning systems, and large language model integrations while ensuring quality, scalability, and performance standards.
- Translate product roadmaps into execution plans and delivery milestones. The role involves working closely with product managers and stakeholders to define scope, priorities, and timelines. The Development Manager ensures alignment between business objectives and technical execution while maintaining delivery predictability and efficiency.
- Manage sprint planning, release management, and dependency coordination. The Development Manager ensures Agile practices are followed effectively, tracking progress, managing risks, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule.
- Guide teams in designing scalable architecture and production-ready AI systems. The role includes making decisions on model integration, deployment strategies, monitoring, and governance. The Development Manager ensures systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Establish engineering metrics and operational KPIs to improve delivery performance. The Development Manager monitors team productivity, delivery quality, and operational stability to continuously improve engineering effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including product leaders, architects, and business teams. The role involves translating business requirements into technical deliverables and ensuring alignment across multiple teams and functions.
- Lead hiring, coaching, and development of engineering talent. The Development Manager builds high-performing teams by mentoring engineers, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure responsible AI practices and governance standards are followed. The Development Manager oversees compliance with data governance, ethical AI practices, and enterprise security requirements while supporting innovation and experimentation.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or related technical leadership roles. Candidates must demonstrate experience delivering complex software or AI-enabled systems in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and generative AI concepts including model lifecycle, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring. Candidates should demonstrate practical experience working with AI-driven applications.
- Experience leading delivery of AI or data-intensive programs. Candidates must demonstrate ability to manage project scope, staffing plans, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
- Strong software engineering background with experience building scalable products, services, and platforms. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, microservices architecture, and distributed systems is essential.
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams including backend, frontend, data engineering, and machine learning specialists. Candidates must demonstrate leadership and team development skills.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, backlog management, sprint execution, and release coordination. Candidates should demonstrate experience delivering products in Agile environments.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production operations. Candidates should understand enterprise-grade deployment and monitoring practices.
