Job description
Senior Pipeline Engineer responsible for delivering high-level onshore and offshore pipeline engineering design within McDermottâs energy infrastructure projects across FEED, conceptual, studies, and detailed engineering phases. The role involves executing complex pipeline system designs including wall thickness calculations, pipeline stress and expansion analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), route selection, seabed interaction studies, on-bottom stability assessments, seismic response analysis, and buckling mitigation strategies. The engineer develops and reviews technical documentation such as material specifications, datasheets, fabrication and installation specifications, pipeline design reports, installation manuals, and material take-offs (MTO). The position requires strong expertise in engineering codes, standards, and design guidelines applicable to oil & gas pipeline systems. The role includes interdisciplinary coordination with procurement, fabrication, safety, document control, vendors, subcontractors, and customers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and functional integrity. The engineer supports bid proposals, technical queries, variation orders, and engineering change management while ensuring adherence to project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements. Additional responsibilities include vendor document evaluation, technical bid reviews, engineering audits, participation in project meetings and offshore surveys, and mentoring junior engineers. The role ensures safe, cost-conscious, and high-quality engineering delivery aligned with project and organizational objectives in offshore and onshore pipeline infrastructure development.
