Job description
The Licensed Aircraft Engineer joins the Technical MRO Engineering Division to support flight operations by delivering world-class Aircraft maintenance activities across multiple specialized sectors including Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Cabin & IFE, Engine shop, and Workshop environments. The role is responsible for planning assigned activities effectively and efficiently, operating equipment and using tooling relative to assigned Aircraft maintenance tasks within the framework of Qatar Airways and Customer procedures. The engineer reviews work procedures and standards, proposes improvements where procedures are not appropriate, and ensures work processes remain effective. The position carries responsibility for the final release of work accomplished, ensuring tasks are performed to meet company and customer standards and targets such as dispatch reliability and acceptable levels of deferred defects, while ensuring delivery standards of QR/customer products are met. All Aircraft maintenance tasks must be accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures, maintaining Aircraft or component serviceability standards to meet schedule requirements. The Licensed Aircraft Engineer provides satisfactory support to internal and external customers, implements solutions to technical problems within authorized limits, and ensures compliance with ICAO/QCAA license and approval requirements within the main fleet authorization framework.

Key responsibilities
- Plan assigned Aircraft maintenance activities in an effective and efficient manner and operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within the framework of Qatar Airways and Customer procedures across Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Cabin & IFE, Engine shop, and Workshop sectors.
- Review work procedures and standards and propose improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure Aircraft maintenance work processes are effective and aligned with company and customer requirements.
- Assume responsibility for the final release of work accomplished, ensuring all Aircraft maintenance tasks are performed to meet company and customer standards including dispatch reliability targets and acceptable levels of deferred defects.
- Ensure delivery standards of QR/customer products are met and confirm Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures within the Technical MRO Engineering Division.
- Provide satisfactory technical support to internal and external customers to ensure seamless coordination between maintenance and flight operations.
- Implement solutions to technical problems within authorized limits and maintain Aircraft or component serviceability standards to meet operational schedule requirements.
- Maintain compliance with ICAO/QCAA license and approval requirements applicable to Qatar Airways main fleet and ensure adherence to regulatory and company maintenance standards.
- Support continuous operational performance within the Technical MRO environment by ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of Aircraft engineering tasks.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience in Aircraft maintenance or Aircraft engineering environments.
- Possess a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Trade or vocational aircraft maintenance qualification, or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
- Hold a minimum of 1 full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approval authorizing certification and release activities.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience across one or more specialized sectors including Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Cabin & IFE, Engine shop, and Workshop maintenance.
- Exhibit capability to perform Aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with laid down policies and procedures within a Technical MRO Engineering Division.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Aircraft serviceability standards, dispatch reliability targets, and deferred defects control processes to maintain operational readiness.
- Show proficiency in operating Aircraft maintenance equipment and tooling relevant to assigned tasks in compliance with company and Customer procedures.
- Provide evidence of ability to review maintenance procedures, propose improvements, implement technical solutions within authority limits, and support internal and external customers in an operational aviation environment.
