Job description
As part of Cisco’s EMEA Internet & Mass-Scale Infrastructure team, the Solutions Engineer will collaborate with account teams, engineers, and customers to define and deliver innovative assurance, automation, and AI-ready networking solutions. The role requires leading the design and implementation of software-defined infrastructures for next-generation service provider networks, managing RFPs, PoCs, and architectural designs while acting as a trusted advisor for customers. The position also involves influencing Cisco’s product strategy by advocating for customer needs, guiding technical teams, and ensuring delivery excellence across strategic accounts in the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of AI-ready, software-defined infrastructures for service provider networks.
- Guide RFPs, proofs of concept (PoCs), and architectural designs, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and industry trends.
- Provide consultative support and expertise to customers in strategic accounts.
- Advocate for field and customer needs with Cisco Development teams to influence product strategy.
- Manage customer expectations by ensuring alignment with product and solution capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, shaping Cisco’s prominence in the service provider market.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts to deliver technical excellence and delivery impact.
- Ensure CSA coverage for strategic workloads including Copilot & Copilot chat.
- Oversee execution of milestones and drive CSA engagement in delivery planning.
- Represent CSA capabilities in Area-wide forums and contribute to CSU planning and governance.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in assurance, automation, networking, consulting, service implementation, and operational expertise.
- Knowledge of networking technologies & protocols including routing, switching, MEF, L2/L3, SRv6, MPLS, BNG, VxLAN, EVPN.
- Knowledge of domains such as ML/AI, SDN, SD-WAN, 5G, and Cloud.
- English and Arabic proficiency required.
- Preferred experience with Cisco assurance (PCA) and Network Automation portfolio such as Cisco Crosswork.
- Understanding of NETCONF/YANG, REST, JSON, and network telemetry.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts including LLM, GenAI, NLP, neural networks, and AI frameworks.
- Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and ROBOT.
- Experience guiding RFPs, PoCs, and architectural designs for large-scale service providers.
- Knowledge of customer networks and ability to act as a consultant for service providers, enterprises, and public sector customers.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Scripting experience with Python, Perl, TCL, and shell programming.
- Highly regarded certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE.
