Job description
Switching systems on high voltage substations only deliver value once they are installed correctly, repaired quickly and kept free of faults, and that is the core of this GIS I&C Engineer position with Hitachi Energy in Dammam. Day to day, the engineer represents PGHV at the client's installation site, working to project deadlines with an eye on the cost-performance ratio. Installation and maintenance tasks are carried out independently. On arrival, every delivery of material is checked for completeness and damage, and non-conformance reports are raised with the PG Project Manager for anything missing or damaged. Guidelines for work on live system components are followed without exception. Sub-supplier superintendents look to you for advice on planning and coordinating their workforce, while loop checks and final installation and commissioning tests run under your supervision. Any changes made during installation are captured on red-mark drawings, and PG completion documentation is closed out at the end. Requirements are a bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering and strong English, with 2 to 5 years of GIS experience, SF6 GAS-Handling knowledge and MS Project skills preferred.
