Job description
The Diagnostic Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing Electric Vehicles (EVs) at Al-Futtaim Automotiveās BYD workshop in Dubai Investment Park. The role involves using advanced diagnostic tools to identify faults, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring repairs meet BYD and Al-Futtaim standards. The technician will also coach junior team members, support spare parts identification, and maintain a safe working environment for handling EV systems.

Key responsibilities
- Diagnose complex system faults on Electric Vehicles and perform preventative maintenance
- Support, coach, and guide other workshop team members on diagnosis and repair procedures
- Ensure high-quality repairs with minimal return jobs
- Document and communicate clearly with Service Advisors, Technical Advisors, and customers
- Provide input on work processes, tools, and environment to improve efficiency
- Ensure EVs are safe for junior technicians to work on
- Assist spare parts staff with correct part and tooling identification
- Maintain safe working environment around EV systems in compliance with HSSE standards
Experience & skills
- Automobile-related diploma or certification
- Master Technician certification or equivalent (preferred)
- 5ā7 yearsā experience as a Diagnostic Technician in retail automotive sector
- In-depth knowledge of EV components and systems (high and low voltage)
- Mechanical and electrical experience
- Up to date with latest EV technology
- Ability to coach and support junior technicians
- Valid UAE driving license
