Job description
The Senior Director - Structuring is responsible for leading the Structuring Team within the Sales & Structuring Desk of a major UAE bank. The role enables bespoke derivative solutions for risk management, financing, and investment purposes across Wholesale Banking, International Banking, and Retail Banking Wealth Management. The position focuses on designing, pricing, documenting, and executing complex and vanilla commodity derivatives including hydrocarbons, metals, and agricultural products, as well as structured financing solutions. It also requires working knowledge of Interest Rates, FX, and Credit derivatives. The Senior Director ensures the development of trade terms, marketing materials, booking models, and timely execution of trades while maintaining compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and risk management protocols. The position involves maintaining close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as AWAI, MTCR, GCD, Treasury Finance, Treasury Middle Office, Treasury Operations, Group Legal and Compliance, as well as with sales teams, relationship managers, and counterparty banks for back-to-back execution. The role is accountable for generating trade ideas, providing pricing accurately and efficiently, executing trades, ensuring correct input into treasury systems, and supporting the lifecycle management of structured products and derivatives to optimize fee revenue and client satisfaction. The Senior Director also acts as a key advisor for structured product solutions, ensuring process efficiency, internal approval management, and adherence to all governance and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities
- Generate and present innovative trade ideas and structured product solutions to Sales Teams, Relationship Managers, and clients, including reverse enquiry opportunities aligned with client requirements.
- Prepare accurate marketing materials, term sheets, and pricing models for commodity, FX, and interest rate derivatives while ensuring internal approvals are obtained and trades are executed correctly.
- Ensure the lifecycle management of trades by collaborating with internal departments such as AWAI, MTCR, GCD, Treasury Finance, Treasury Middle Office, Treasury Operations, Group Legal and Compliance to meet all stakeholder requirements.
- Execute trades efficiently and ensure correct and timely input into Treasury systems to maintain accurate client accounts, P&L, and risk management reporting.
- Maintain close coordination with counterparty banks for back-to-back execution of complex derivatives when internal trading capabilities are unavailable.
- Ensure adherence to all internal policies and external regulations throughout the structured product and derivatives sales process to mitigate audit and compliance risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, sales teams, RMs, and external counterparties to facilitate effective communication and smooth execution of trades.
- Oversee the pricing, risk assessment, and documentation of structured products and derivatives, ensuring accurate and timely responses to live trade requirements and client inquiries.
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience with vanilla and complex commodity products including hydrocarbons, metals, agricultural commodities, and commodity financing with a strong understanding of pricing, hedging, accounting, and documentation.
- Knowledge of Interest Rate, FX, and Credit derivative products, including pricing, hedging, payoff structures, and risk profiles.
- Ability to create trade terms, marketing materials, and booking models for new products and structures.
- Strong experience in maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, internal sales teams, and counterparty banks for trade execution and approval processes.
- Ability to ensure accurate trade booking and input into Treasury systems, adhering to risk management and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools and Treasury systems, with the ability to price structured products using in-house pricing tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, coordinate, and collaborate across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a banking environment with exposure to Relationship Management, Treasury products, and customer-facing roles is preferred.
