Job description
Lesson plans go to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator ahead of time, and that sets the pattern for a well-organised week at Star Al Qusais. Teaching BTEC IT sits at the centre of the job, with monthly assessments for each topic, grading of all assigned work and an up-to-date grade book by every deadline. Pastoral work carries real weight, and you will work with the Psychology Department and Academic Coordinator to support students with academic, behavioural or special needs, gifted learners included. Daily attendance, portfolio collection, the Homework Board and playground supervision all form part of the routine. Parents are kept close through meetings, invitations to events and encouragement to attend PTA sessions. Beyond lessons, the school expects involvement in community service projects, fundraising, fairs and student subcommittees. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology or a related field, at least 2 years in education and fluent English, with a Master's preferred. Being able to teach ICT and Computer Science up to A Level would be an advantage.
