Job description
Amazon's fulfilment centres depend on OpsTech IT to keep inventory moving from inbound to outbound, and this Senior Network & Systems Engineer leads that support across a regional group of sites. Critical systems uptime is the priority, with you as first escalation point for complex issues, including ones with no established SOP. Networking depth covers routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs and structured cabling, along with DNS, DHCP, VLANs, TCP/IP, subnetting and security protocols. Change Management (CMs) and CM templates are planned and coordinated across the region. Regional projects, including new site launches with end-to-end infrastructure buildout and go-live support, are led with minimal guidance alongside internal teams and vendors. Manual tasks are automated and tools improved to raise team efficiency, while root cause analysis prevents repeat incidents. Team members benefit from your mentoring, quality audits and training, and hiring and onboarding involve you too. On-call support beyond business hours is expected during critical incidents. Expect to bring a Bachelor's degree in IT or computer science, 4+ years across networking, Windows/Linux server administration or Cisco IOS, and troubleshooting in high-availability environments, with growing knowledge of AWS and distributed systems.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver infrastructure improvements and technology rollouts

- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve recurring challenges and prevent future incidents
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
- Mentor junior engineers, audit work quality and deliver training
