Job description
Manage, supervise and control the development and implementation of a diverse range of major multi-disciplined engineering projects from inception through completion and handover, relating to new plants, facilities, and modifications to existing systems. Ensure optimal and economic development of projects consistent with shareholder guidelines. Oversee contractors, consultants, and project management consultants while ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and provide technical input into proposal and conceptual developments
- Coordinate design, materials specification, procurement and contract tendering
- Manage project management consultants, site supervision, and project administration
- Lead teams in developing strategies for implementation of major projects
- Direct project execution from initiation to commissioning and start up
- Ensure compliance with project management principles, HSE requirements, and cost/time objectives
- Direct and coordinate activities of multi-discipline engineering teams
- Refine project proposals into viable project plans including design, specifications, costs and strategy
- Approve work programs, terms of reference, standards, and working procedures
- Control budgets, costs, and contracts including purchase orders and variation orders
- Oversee project safety programs and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations
- Advise management on project completion dates and start-up planning
- Coordinate financial matters such as forecasts, duties, and currency requirements
- Attend Tender Board Meetings and report on financial situation of projects
- Appraise contractor performance for quality, cost, schedule and safety
- Prepare progress reports and weekly/monthly project updates
- Maintain technical integrity of surface facilities and project cost throughout lifecycle
- Deliver projects within HSE, quality, cost, and schedule targets
- Recommend acceptance or rejection of project proposals and work programs
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 12 years of professional experience in project engineering/execution in Oil & Gas
- 5 years of experience leading multi-disciplined staff and contractors
- Sound knowledge of contracts, planning, budget and cost control
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification
