Job description
The Senior Design Architect is responsible for participating in and leading all retail project and site development phases from schematic design through construction, including conceptual and detailed planning, designing, material specification, contractor evaluation and finalization, site supervision and control. The role involves evolving designs to meet business requirements and conceptualizing or redesigning retail formats in line with customer expectations, mall requirements, and latest market trends. Responsibilities include developing and managing complete showroom design processes covering comprehensive floor plan, exterior elevations, interior elevations, A/c diffuse allocation, lightning, graphic imaging (3D Presentation), and all material selections and finishes. The role extends to designing other mall/store utilities such as building placement/orientation, parking lot layout/flow, and service vehicle access. The architect delivers detailed specifications and clear, concise, comprehensive engineering/interior drawings in compliance with company standards, develops zoning layouts based on product categories applying principles of space management and target consumer profiles, reviews and processes shop drawings and sample submissions in coordination with Projects Team and External Consultants to maintain design intent, conducts existing condition surveys, and prepares architectural base plans, sections, elevations, and detailed documentation. The role coordinates with Retail Operations and VM teams for design inputs, provides expertise in detail development and research of products and building systems aligned with design intent, and recommends renovation changes for existing stores. In site project management, the architect assists in site selection, prepares detailed survey reports, performs on-site design services, interprets drawings, specs, codes, standards, regulatory requirements, conducts field engineering work, nominates and evaluates contractors and suppliers, negotiates rates and contractual terms, manages vendor relationships, conducts planning sessions, defines project and performance expectations, identifies and evaluates new building materials and solutions considering quality and cost effectiveness, provides material specification, oversees procurement, and coordinates with Architectural Consultants, Material suppliers, Construction agencies, MEP teams, municipal authorities, and PRO for approvals including Civil signageās and municipality permissions to ensure timely and efficient project completion. Technical supervision includes overseeing interior design work for existing and new stores and reviewing MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) drawings to align with architectural drawings. The role also includes people management responsibilities such as setting annual performance goals, monitoring performance, identifying training and development needs, mentoring subordinates for career progression, and ensuring compliance with company policies and values. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Max, Photoshop, exposure to latest building materials, building systems, interior trends, and extensive experience in Interior/Retail Store/Building designing including managerial leadership of independent Retail Project/Site Development projects.

Experience & skills
- Hold a Graduate Degree in Architecture/ Planning & Design/ Applied Science / Civil Engineering with demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Max and Photoshop, and possess exposure to the latest building materials, building systems and interior trends through formal training or on-the-job experience, with the ability to produce detailed engineering drawings, shop drawings, architectural base plans, floor plan layouts, exterior elevations, interior elevations and 3D Presentation outputs.
- Demonstrate 10ā12 years of Interior/Retail Store/Building designing experience including 6 years in a managerial capacity leading independent Retail Project/Site Development projects, with proven expertise in material specification, contractor evaluation and finalization, site supervision, field engineering work, MEP coordination, interpretation of drawings, specs, codes and standards, vendor and supplier management, negotiation of contractual terms, procurement oversight, zoning and space management planning, and obtaining municipality permissions and Civil signageās approvals.
