Alstom is seeking a full-time onsite Quality Engineer for the Jeddah APM Extension project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, supporting rail transport systems including metros, signalling and digital mobility solutions. The role focuses on ensuring successful implementation of quality assurance and quality control plans for installation sites, contributing to seamless project execution and adherence to quality and safety standards. The Quality Engineer establishes, implements, validates for subcontractors, and updates Quality Installation Control Plans and relevant QC forms in accordance with contract requirements, Alstom processes, and lessons learned from previous projects, ensuring proper application on site. The position ensures control of output quality documents and records such as Control Documents, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Construction Drawings (IFC – Issued for Construction), verifies that all work is executed using approved IFC documents, and maintains traceability and records for monitoring and measuring devices. The role includes leading site quality animation with cross-functional teams including Project Quality & Safety Managers (PrQSM), installation teams and customer representatives, deploying a right-first-time mindset within the construction and installation environment of subsystems, preparing Sub-System Punch list and Outstanding Works list in coordination with installation teams, and supporting criticality assessments covering Safety, Operational, Functional, Technical and Documentation aspects. The Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement and problem-solving activities at subsystem installation level to reduce costs of non-quality using methodologies such as 8D, QRQC and REX, provides quality awareness on installation activities, organizes quality training, supports self-inspection and delegation of control through audits and training, and supports the PrQSM in the DfQ process including readiness reviews of Subsystem Gate Reviews (GRs), M+2 look-ahead forecasts, and collection and archiving of GR evidence. The role requires performing and participating in site quality inspections for both Alstom and subcontractor scopes, conducting customer joint inspections, preparing inspection reports, and documenting inspection results in relevant tools according to project rules while adhering to quality management systems, industry standards and compliance processes in a dynamic project-driven rail infrastructure environment.

- Establish, implement, validate for subcontractors, and update Quality Installation Control Plans and QC forms in accordance with contract requirements, Alstom processes and lessons learned, ensuring correct application on installation sites
- Ensure control and management of output quality documents and records including Control Documents, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Construction Drawings (IFC – Issued for Construction), maintaining traceability for monitoring and measuring devices
- Lead site quality animation with Project Quality & Safety Managers, installation teams and customer representatives, deploy a right-first-time mindset, and ensure all work is executed using approved IFC documents
- Prepare Sub-System Punch list and Outstanding Works list in coordination with installation teams and support PrQSM in performing criticality assessments covering Safety, Operational, Functional, Technical and Documentation aspects

- Perform and participate in site quality inspections for Alstom and subcontractor scopes, conduct customer joint inspections, prepare inspection reports and document inspection results in relevant tools as per project rules
Experience & skills
- Hold a Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with experience in quality assurance and control processes within construction, installation or manufacturing environments
- Demonstrate knowledge of quality management systems, industry standards and compliance processes applicable to rail or infrastructure projects
- Show familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Control Documents, Method Statements and Construction Drawings (IFC – Issued for Construction)
- Exhibit experience managing non-compliance reports, preparing Sub-System Punch lists and Outstanding Works lists, and supporting criticality assessments
- Demonstrate application of continuous improvement methodologies such as 8D, QRQC and REX to address non-conformance issues and reduce costs of non-quality
- Possess analytical capability to identify, document and resolve non-conformance issues and support readiness reviews and Subsystem Gate Reviews (GRs)
- Show ability to perform site quality inspections, customer joint inspections, and prepare detailed inspection reports in accordance with project rules
- Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a dynamic project-driven rail installation environment while supporting cross-functional collaboration
