Job description
The Structural Supervisor at Wood will join the Construction team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business, based full-time onshore in Abu Dhabi. This role oversees structural construction activities to ensure alignment with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Responsibilities include supervising on-site structural works, reviewing technical drawings and specifications, resolving workflow issues, ensuring compliance with ASME, API, and ASTM standards, and monitoring procurement and material usage. Candidates will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and clients, ensuring structural integrity through site audits and inspections. The role also involves safety enforcement, reporting progress to stakeholders, and addressing construction challenges. Applicants should have a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience, preferably in offshore/onshore projects, and a strong command of construction materials, methodologies, and codes. Proficiency in project management tools and excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage structural construction activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and plans to ensure accuracy and feasibility
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and site personnel to resolve technical issues
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM standards and safety regulations
- Monitor material usage, procurement, and inventory to prevent delays and cost overruns
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify structural integrity and adherence to specifications
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site

- Assist in troubleshooting construction challenges and recommend practical solutions
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies as necessary
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry codes
- Experience in offshore/onshore projects preferred
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and team-building abilities
- Ability to enforce safety and quality standards on-site
