Job description
The Senior Financial Analyst at Panda Retail Company in Jeddah plays a critical role in supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function by delivering high-quality financial insights, forecasts, and performance analysis. The role focuses on developing financial models, supporting budgeting processes, and providing actionable insights to improve profitability and operational performance. The position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large datasets to support strategic and operational decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and senior management, to support business initiatives and drive financial performance. The role also involves preparing executive-level financial reports, analyzing performance trends, and identifying risks and opportunities. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives using advanced analytics tools such as Power BI and Excel. The role requires knowledge of retail industry metrics, financial reporting standards, and business intelligence tools. The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to support strategic planning initiatives and contribute to financial transformation and operational efficiency within the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the annual budgeting and forecasting process by collaborating with business units, gathering financial and operational inputs, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities while maintaining accuracy and completeness of financial projections.
- Develop advanced financial models to support strategic decision-making including new store expansion, pricing strategies, cost optimization initiatives, and capital investment evaluation, ensuring assumptions are validated and financial outcomes are clearly communicated to stakeholders.
- Perform detailed variance analysis comparing actual results against budget and forecasts, identifying key performance drivers, and providing actionable insights to management to support corrective actions and improve financial performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and retail-specific metrics such as sales growth, inventory turnover, shrinkage, and gross margin performance, providing regular analysis and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and executive leadership, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance of financial information.
- Conduct financial and operational analysis to support business units, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and efficiency improvements, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive performance enhancements.
- Support automation and enhancement of financial reporting processes through the implementation of business intelligence tools such as Power BI and data visualization platforms, improving reporting efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the FP&A function by enhancing reporting processes, strengthening financial controls, improving data integrity, and supporting financial system implementations.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline with 4–5 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within medium to large organizations or retail environments.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with the ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable business insights to senior management.
- Professional certification such as CMA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent is highly preferred and demonstrates strong technical knowledge in finance and accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modelling tools, and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards such as IFRS or GAAP, with the ability to ensure compliance and maintain financial data integrity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate them into strategic recommendations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP systems and large datasets, along with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
