Job description
The Territory Solutions Engineer, SSA role at Cloudflare is a pre-sales technical position within the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region, based in Dubai, responsible for driving technical sales and solution design across Cloudflare’s global Internet performance and security platform. The role sits within the Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering organisation and acts as the technical customer advocate across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams. It requires deep understanding of Internet infrastructure including TCP, UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP, TLS/SSL, firewalls, CDN, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust architecture, and SASE frameworks. The engineer supports enterprise customers ranging from SMBs to Fortune 500 companies by designing fit-for-purpose solutions, building adoption roadmaps, and ensuring maximum business value from Cloudflare’s network services. The role also involves explaining ROI, understanding customer buying processes, and positioning Cloudflare solutions against competitors in areas such as performance, security, DNS, developer platforms, and Zero Trust services. Candidates are expected to have 3–10 years of IT industry experience, with exposure to scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, business-aligned language. The position requires strong pre-sales engineering capability, customer empathy, project management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment focused on Internet security and performance optimization.
