General ledger work sits at the centre, covering journal entries, accruals, provisions and reconciliations. Balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports are prepared and reviewed here before they go further. Accounting standards, company policies and internal controls all need to be followed closely. During audits, you will provide support and resolve any discrepancies that come up. Day-to-day work involves coordinating with AP, AR, Tax and other finance teams, while junior accounting staff look to you for guidance.
