Job description
Every merchant Airwallex onboards in APAC carries some level of credit, fraud or brand risk, and keeping that exposure within enterprise risk appetite is what this team exists to do. The Senior Manager leads the APAC Merchant Risk Operations team for Payments and owns its operational performance end to end, from SLAs and quality to loss metrics and customer impact. Merchant monitoring, investigation and escalation workflows across the region sit under your oversight. Policy and control changes arrive from global legal, risk and compliance teams, and getting them into operations efficiently is part of the job. Tooling gets just as much attention, with Product and Engineering partners shaping rules engines, case management, AI/LLM-based workflows and analytics surfaces to cut manual work and speed up decisions. Fraud ratio and chargeback ratio are the headline metrics, tied directly to company OKRs. Applicants need 8+ years in payments, fintech or acquiring, including at least 3 years managing people, ideally senior ICs across multiple locations. Deep expertise in credit and fraud risk (reserves and exposure management) or brand risk (AUP and compliance management) is expected, and Mandarin is an advantage. The position requires relocation to Singapore.
