Job description
Credit exposures across Wholesale Banking, Business Banking and Private Banking in the UAE and internationally all pass through this Assistant Manager's appraisal, assessment and control function. You evaluate credit proposals submitted by Wholesale Banking business units, analysing them and submitting recommendations to management. Credit risk gets assessed continuously, with mitigating measures suggested wherever needed to protect portfolio quality. Lending proposals get checked for compliance with internal policies and UAE Central Bank regulations, and accounts on the border line, such as OLEM or Substandard, get monitored closely to keep them out of non performing territory. Business units receive advice on managing difficult accounts, with provisioning recommendations made for weaker positions within the allocated portfolio. Exception reports, excesses, past dues and utilisation all get tracked against the allocated portfolio, informing strategies shared with relationship teams and management. IFRS9 governance and staging get completed per policy, and credit risk data gets entered and cross-checked in core banking and risk management platforms, including nCino, for accuracy. Regulatory documentation standards, mandatory disclosures and compliance checklists all get verified before approval, with potential compliance gaps escalated without delay. Requests for documentation or standard term changes get analysed in liaison with stakeholders such as Legal and CRAD.
