Job description
The Field Service Technician I at Honeywell is responsible for performing field-based installation, maintenance, and repair of technical systems and equipment across customer sites in Sharjah and the broader UAE. The role supports senior service engineers in ensuring optimal system performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. The position involves a blend of hands-on technical work, diagnostics, and client interaction. The technician will install, test, and commission systemsâranging from mechanical and electrical assemblies to automation and control technologiesâwhile ensuring compliance with Honeywellâs safety and quality standards. A key aspect of the role is supporting senior technicians in complex troubleshooting scenarios and gaining expertise across Honeywellâs technologies, including control systems, automation platforms, and security systems such as CCTV. - Install, test, and commission Honeywell systems and equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers with complex service operations and advanced troubleshooting tasks.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective technical solutions.
- Document all service activities, including details of work performed, parts used, and issues identified, in accordance with company reporting standards.
- Provide clear and timely communication to customers regarding service status, findings, and recommendations.
- Participate in technical training programs to expand expertise in Honeywellâs automation, control, and security technologies.
- Adhere to company safety policies and operational protocols during all site activities.
- Ensure proper upkeep of service tools, testing equipment, and assigned vehicles.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance field service processes and improve customer experience.
- Escalate recurring technical issues to engineering teams for design feedback and continuous improvement.
Experience & skills
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of field service or technical support experience, preferably with exposure to control systems, automation, or security/CCTV systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical system fundamentals and practical troubleshooting methods.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing instruments, and service documentation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a structured approach to technical challenges.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally at client sites.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple service requests, and travel frequently across assigned regions.
- Valid driverâs license and flexibility to work extended or irregular hours based on service needs.
- Commitment to following safety standards and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
