Job description
The Manager of Port Operations is responsible for leading, regulating, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Ras Laffan Port. The role is accountable for the overall strategic, operational, and regulatory performance of the port, ensuring alignment with State, National, and International maritime standards. Key responsibilities include safeguarding business continuity, maintaining safety and asset integrity, and driving financial performance. The position requires extensive experience in complex port operations, infrastructure, or logistics within the Oil & Gas sector, adherence to International Conventions such as MARPOL, SOLAS, ILO, and industry standards, and strong leadership, risk management, and strategic decision-making capabilities.

- Lead and regulate the operations of Ras Laffan Port ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with maritime standards
- Oversee the strategic, operational, and regulatory performance of the port
- Ensure alignment of port operations with State, National, and International maritime standards
- Safeguard business continuity, safety, and asset integrity
- Manage financial performance of port operations
- Lead complex port operations, infrastructure, and logistics functions

Experience & skills
- Minimum 15–20 years of progressive experience in ports or maritime operations, with at least 5 years in senior port management
- Proven experience leading complex port operations, infrastructure, or logistic functions
- Strong knowledge of International Conventions (MARPOL, SOLAS, ILO) and Oil & Gas industry standards
- Demonstrated leadership, risk management, and strategic decision-making capability
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Internationally recognised senior maritime qualification (e.g., Master Mariner Class 1) or University degree in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering, ideally with an MBA
