Job description
T24, DealHub, CLS and SWIFT messaging sit at the heart of this FX/MM Settlements role in Mashreq's Injaz operations team, based full time in the office in the UAE. Foreign Exchange and Money Market trades come to you for validation, confirmation and settlement, with payments released on the correct value date and within currency cut-offs. Confirmations rely on SWIFT MT300, MT320 and MT600 matching, and payments run through MT103 and MT202 as well as daily UAEFTS processing. Islamic Murabaha, Wakala and Reverse Murabaha trades also need validation, documentation and commodity execution. Daily controls include reconciling booking systems with the payment gateway, checking deal flows between T24 and DealHub and following up Nostro outstanding items with counterparties. DVP customers are handled carefully, with funds received before the other currency is paid and margin funds tracked by deal. Gold swap transactions with DGCX are processed within their specific cut-off times. The target is zero operational loss, with full control across settlements, confirmations and payments. Sound knowledge of Treasury Accounting for FX and Money Market products is expected.

Key responsibilities
- Validate and confirm Foreign Exchange and Money Market trades
- Maintain accurate SSIs and complete all payments within currency cut-offs
- Monitor CP conditions for corporate customers on FX trades
- Settle eligible trades through the CLS settlement system
- Reconcile payments daily between booking systems and the payment gateway
- Match MT300, MT320 and MT600 confirmations against agreed criteria
- Execute daily Islamic Murabaha, Wakala and Reverse Murabaha trade validations, documentation and commodity execution
- Chase Nostro outstanding items and follow up with counterparties on delayed payments
- Track Money Market cash flows, daily settlements and confirmation matching
- Verify that all FX payments are made on the correct value date
- Perform control checks on deal flows between T24 and DealHub
- Review transmission copies of payment and receipt messages to confirm timely sending
- Prepare daily UAEFTS payments and monitor the payment queue
- Handle daily commodity transactions, settlements and confirmations
- Release DVP customer payments only after the incoming currency funds are received
- Place and track margin funds received from DVP customers against specific deals
- Manage gold swap transactions executed with DGCX within specified cut-off times
- Ensure zero operational loss and full control across settlements, confirmations and payments
Experience & skills
- Bring experience in FX and Money Market settlement operations
- Know the CLS trade settlement system well
- Understand SWIFT MT103, MT202, MT300, MT320 and MT600 message types and confirmation matching criteria
- Apply sound knowledge of Treasury Accounting for FX and Money Market products
- Show familiarity with Islamic treasury products and commodity execution
- Use booking and dealing systems such as T24 and DealHub
- Deliver accurate work against strict daily currency cut-offs
