Job description
The Supervisor of the Inventory Cost Accounting Unit oversees and manages all inventory accounting functions, applying generally accepted accounting principles to review, analyze, and prepare inventory-related financial information. The role ensures accurate and timely reporting of inventory movements for refined and monomer products, coordinating closely with departments such as MFT, MMS, PP, SPS, SDU, SAP consultants, PIM engineers, and process engineers. The position develops and enforces policies and procedures for inventory accounting, supervises and trains staff, monitors day-to-day unit activities, and communicates monthly inventory results to senior financial management. Additionally, the role ensures alignment of unit KPIs with departmental objectives, maintains compliance with internal controls, IFRS standards, and supports cross-functional collaboration to optimize reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventory accounting reporting manuals and procedures, including participation in physical inventory processes, and ensure proper execution of tasks by distributing responsibilities among staff.
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day unit activities, reporting major issues to senior management and ensuring KPI and goal progress is tracked and actions are taken accordingly.
- Set up unit objectives and monitor the achievement of KPIs aligned with departmental goals to ensure consistent performance and reporting quality.
- Lead, supervise, train, and motivate staff to guarantee that all assigned responsibilities and tasks are performed accurately, timely, and in accordance with policies.
- Coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including MFT, MMS, PP, SPS, SDU, SAP consultants, PIM engineers, process engineers, and CPD, to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting of inventory movements.
- Review, analyze, and prepare inventory-related financial information to ensure adherence to accounting principles, cost accounting methods, and IFRS standards.
- Communicate monthly inventory results and relevant financial data to senior financial management, highlighting issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operation Accounting Section Head, ensuring continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
Experience & skills
- BA in Finance/Accounting.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in inventory accounting or related financial roles.
- Auditing experience, including internal and external audits.
- Strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
- Understanding of basic internal controls and management accounting.
- Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Experience in supervising, leading, and training staff in a finance function.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
