Job description
The Senior Technician - Electrical is responsible for performing full lifecycle electrical works across Hotel Accommodation projects in Dubai & Northern Emirates, including installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of electrical systems, domestic lighting, and electronic equipment. The role involves reading and interpreting electrical drawings and circuit diagrams to ensure accurate implementation of wiring, connections, and grounding across various buildings. The technician assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using both hand and power tools. Responsibilities include connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and other components, constructing and fabricating parts according to specifications, installing ground leads, pulling insulated wires through conduit, and placing conduit in concealed areas. The position requires working from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs, performing physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches for conduit installation and lifting heavy electrical equipment. The technician uses a variety of tools and equipment including power construction tools, measuring devices, oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps. Safety compliance is critical, including participation in Tool Box Talks. The role also involves troubleshooting faults, performing preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, and coordinating with other construction and maintenance teams to meet project schedules and operational requirements, while ensuring all electrical works adhere to local codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, commission and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures and domestic lighting systems using hand tools, power tools, power construction equipment, measuring devices and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters and test lamps.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors and other components, install ground leads, connect power cables to equipment, place conduit inside designated partitions, walls or concealed areas, pull insulated wires through conduit to complete circuits, fabricate parts according to specifications, work from ladders and scaffolds, perform trenching and heavy lifting, read electrical drawings and circuit diagrams, and comply with safety requirements including attending Tool Box Talk.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on electrical systems and equipment, identify defects or malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality and maintain operational efficiency.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including motors, lighting, panels, and wiring, to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with operational standards.
- Coordinate with construction and maintenance teams to schedule electrical works, integrate systems with other building services, and ensure completion within project timelines.
- Document all installation, testing, maintenance, and repair activities accurately, including updating drawings, wiring diagrams, and records for reference and compliance purposes.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, local electrical codes, and industry best practices during all installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Support training or guidance for junior technicians and apprentices on electrical installation, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
Experience & skills
- Obtain a Diploma in Electrical or Technical Certificate (ITI) as preferred educational qualification.
- Demonstrate 5 to 8 years of relevant experience with preference for experience in UAE or Gulf in installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Exhibit ability to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams and perform conduit installation, wiring, and equipment connections.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, power construction equipment, measuring devices and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters and test lamps while performing physically demanding on-site tasks.
- Proven experience performing troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate electrical works with other construction and maintenance teams to meet project schedules and operational requirements.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices, with a commitment to compliance during all on-site activities.
- Experience in documenting installation, maintenance, testing, and repair activities accurately, including updating electrical drawings and records.
