Job description
The Manager - Freighter Planning role is responsible for managing and optimizing flydubai’s freighter operations by developing and maintaining short-, medium-, and long-term network schedules, capacity plans, and aircraft utilization strategies. The role ensures freighter aircraft are deployed efficiently across the network in alignment with commercial demand, operational capability, regulatory requirements, and long-term strategic objectives. Responsibilities include coordinating with Flight Operations, Engineering, and Ground Handling to ensure operational viability of schedules, conducting capacity, yield, and utilization analysis to meet cost efficiency and profitability targets, leading freighter entry-into-service planning, and evaluating ad-hoc and charter opportunities. The role collaborates closely with Cargo Pricing and Revenue Optimization teams, prepares detailed management and performance reports, leads continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, ensures compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and manages and develops the Freighter Planning team while adhering to company Information Security Risk policies.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term freighter network plans to optimize aircraft deployment, rotations, and block-hour utilization
- Coordinate with Flight Operations, Engineering, and Ground Handling to ensure freighter schedules are operationally viable and compliant
- Conduct capacity, yield, and utilization analysis to meet cost efficiency, profitability, and load factor targets
- Lead freighter entry-into-service planning including route proving, crew familiarization, and post-launch operational reviews
- Evaluate and approve ad-hoc and charter opportunities by assessing operational feasibility and financial impact
- Collaborate with Cargo Pricing and Revenue Optimization teams to align capacity planning with yield and market targets
- Prepare detailed management reports covering freighter performance, route profitability, cost analysis, and efficiency metrics
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards related to freighter scheduling and cargo capacity planning
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and resource optimization
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Freighter Planning team and ensure adherence to Information Security Risk policies
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate a minimum of eight to ten years of experience in airline cargo or freighter planning
- Demonstrate at least three years of experience in a managerial role within airline cargo or freighter operations
- Demonstrate fluency in English
- Demonstrate experience in freighter network planning, capacity planning, and utilization optimization
- Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory compliance and internal standards related to airline cargo operations
- Comply with company Information Security Risk policies and required awareness training
