Job description
The Senior Application Systems Sales Engineer in Saudi Arabia serves as a Technical System Application Engineer focused on end-to-end responsibilities for analysis, implementation, configuration, and testing of customer-specific applications on existing hardware and software products. The role covers presales and project delivery activities, including documenting solutions, creating customer/solution-specific documentation, delivering or supporting training, and providing customer-facing technical support during the nursing period. Core technical mandates include analyzing specifications, defining and developing solution architecture at detailed technical levels, adding software elements to existing products, defining detailed data semantics, structures, access and communication standards, selecting algorithms for data processing, defining implementation approaches, programming the solution, and specifying detailed tasks for third-party contractors via Jira and installation guides. The engineer implements and configures solutions, coordinates and tracks development activities performed by third parties (scheduling/testing/quality), and executes comprehensive testing considering interactions with other elements and customer-specific environments, including on-site testing when required. Responsibilities extend to documenting developed/installed solutions for maintenance reuse, creating training/operational documentation, supporting provisioning of customer/third-party training services, providing support during the nursing period, and being actively involved in migration activities and initial system load activities. The position requires sound oral and written knowledge of one foreign language, knowledge of software and general programming languages, sound knowledge of standard software (MS Office), customer-centric ability to translate needs into technology/solutions, knowledge of software applications and architecture, and aligns with Honeywellâs businesses (Aerospace Technologies, Building Automation, Energy and Sustainability Solutions, Industrial Automation) powered by Honeywell Forge.

- Analyze specifications for solution development
- Define and develop the solution architecture at a detailed technical level
- Add software elements to existing software according to the required solution
- Define detailed data semantics, structure, access, and communication standards aligned to applied hardware and performance requirements
- Select and describe algorithms for data processing
- Define how the product has to be implemented and decompose into deliverable tasks
- Define detailed tasks for third-party contractors and communicate via Jira and installation guides
- Analyze customer specifications when aligned with defined products or solutions
- Define and describe parameterisation and the elements needed to implement parameterisation for both hardware and software
- Program the solution and ensure code aligns with the technical design
- Coordinate and track scheduling, testing, and quality of specific development activities performed by third parties
- Implement and configure the solution in target environments
- Test the solution including interaction with other elements for own products and customer-specific situations, including on-site tests at customer locations when needed
- Document the developed/installed solution for maintenance access and potential standardization within the development group
- Create customer/solution-specific documentation for training and operational tasks
- Support the provisioning of customer and third-party training services
- Provide customer support during the nursing period after deployment
- Participate in migration activities and initial system load activities
