Job description
The Manager - Biosecurity and Plant Health within Botanica Red Sea (a subsidiary of Red Sea Global) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive plant biosecurity and quality management program across large-scale nursery and greenhouse production operations spanning over 1 million square meters. The role ensures protection of plant health, prevention of pest and disease risks, and maintenance of consistent production standards across nursery production systems aligned with sustainability and ecological integration goals. The position requires designing and implementing site-wide biosecurity frameworks, conducting risk assessments for plant health threats, pest entry points, and operational vulnerabilities, and establishing procedures for plant movement, sanitation, propagation, and waste handling. The manager is responsible for monitoring plant health through structured inspection schedules, maintaining traceability and documentation systems, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements. The role includes developing and delivering training programs to promote biosecurity awareness, hygiene practices, and accountability among nursery staff. It also involves analyzing plant health and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, producing reports and dashboards for management and R&D teams, and supporting research and development initiatives aimed at improving plant resilience and production practices. The position requires close collaboration with production, research, and facilities teams, as well as liaison with regulatory authorities, inspection bodies, and certification agencies.
