Job description
The Transport Planner at Mott MacDonald in Dubai is responsible for supporting the delivery of transport planning projects, contributing to the company’s positioning for prospective clients in the UAE market. The role encompasses participation in a variety of transport planning and mobility studies, including large-scale master planning, transportation assessments, traffic impact studies, parking studies, mobility strategies, and plot development planning. The planner prepares high-quality technical reports and analyses, working closely with project managers and internal disciplines to ensure timely delivery of outputs. Competency in traffic analysis software such as SIDRA, SYNCHRO, and HCS is essential, alongside coordination with internal design teams and external stakeholders, including statutory authorities. The role also involves understanding local UAE transport trends and planning practices and requires effective communication in English across multidisciplinary teams and external parties.

- Contribute to and support transport planning and mobility studies including master planning, transportation assessments, traffic impact studies, parking studies, and plot development
- Prepare high-quality written reports and technical analyses to support project objectives
- Collaborate closely with project managers and internal disciplines to ensure timely completion of deliverables

Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Master’s in Transport Planning or Engineering advantageous
- Prior experience as a Transport Planner in the UAE, with familiarity of local transport planning practices and standards
- Competence in traffic analysis and modelling using SIDRA, SYNCHRO, and HCS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Membership in a recognised professional institution considered advantageous
- Ability to coordinate across multiple internal disciplines and external stakeholders
- Candidates based in the UAE will be preferred
