Job description
Middle East, Africa and Russia fall under one desk in TikTok's EMEA Tax Team, and this Tax Manager role owns corporate income tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, tax planning and tax audit work across that entire region. You manage tax compliance requirements and reporting procedures across the Middle East and Africa, acting as the point of contact with local tax authorities and tax advisors on VAT, digital service tax, corporate income tax and withholding tax filings. New and proposed tax legislation gets monitored and analyzed continuously, especially around digital economy taxation that could affect the company's operations and financial position. Tax validation and data reconciliation run through this role too, with VAT general ledger accounts reviewed on input and output tax before anything gets matched to a return. Draft monthly, quarterly and annual local tax returns prepared by external advisors get a preliminary review before they go further. Periodical tax compliance checks across business units surface exceptions that need documenting, and training sessions with stakeholders happen whenever the wider team needs to get up to speed. Advisory work extends across various service lines and business projects, with risk management and mitigation plans built for each assigned jurisdiction. Fluent professional English keeps all of this communicated clearly across a genuinely regional remit.
