Job description
Switchgear, MCCs, transformers, cabling, transmitters and PLC/DCS systems all have to be installed safely and to code, and this PMC construction engineer for Wood in Abu Dhabi oversees that E&I work on site. Installations are checked against IFC drawings, project specifications and IEC, NEC and ISA codes, with NCRs cleared promptly. Contractors and site teams need resources allocated and productivity watched closely. Progress tracking highlights bottlenecks early so corrective measures keep milestones on schedule. Hazardous area work demands strict HSE discipline, reinforced through toolbox talks and a zero-incident target. Inspections are coordinated with QA/QC, and pre-commissioning and commissioning activities get your support. Fifteen years in oil and gas is required, including 5 on capital projects above USD 500M with a construction or site management focus. Operating company experience is highly desired and may substitute for capital project experience. Extensive multi-week travel and flexibility on work location come with the role, along with strong written and spoken English.
