Job description
The Senior Solution Architect - Physical Security Systems at Thales in Riyadh is responsible for designing and leading complex solution architectures across critical infrastructure and smart city projects, combining Physical Security Systems, IoT, AI/analytics, and cloud services. The role defines end-to-end security frameworks integrating Video Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Systems (ACS), PSIM/C2, data analytics, and IT/OT networks, while evaluating and integrating AI-driven analytics, digital twins, edge computing, and sensor fusion into security and operational workflows. The architect ensures compliance with local and international standards including HCIS 2017, NIST, ISO 27001, PDPL, and GDPR. Acting as a technology strategist, the role develops roadmaps aligning emerging technologies with enterprise, government, and regulatory goals, and collaborates with internal R&D, partners, and ecosystem vendors to enable cyber-physical convergence. The position leads multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, cybersecurity, and operations from concept to implementation, engages executive-level stakeholders to define requirements and align technology with business outcomes, and supports pre-sales and bid teams with high-level architectures, compliance matrices, and value propositions for smart cities, airports, utilities, and critical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities
- Design and lead complex architectures combining Physical Security Systems, IoT, AI/analytics, and cloud services across critical infrastructure and smart city projects
- Define end-to-end security frameworks integrating VMS, ACS, PSIM/C2, data analytics, and IT/OT networks
- Evaluate and integrate AI-driven analytics, digital twins, edge computing, and sensor fusion into security and operational workflows
- Ensure architecture compliance with HCIS 2017, NIST, ISO 27001, PDPL, GDPR, and other applicable standards
- Act as a technology strategist shaping future trends in security and smart-city domains

Experience & skills
- Possess 10-15 years of experience in security architecture, systems integration, or technology strategy
- Demonstrate a proven record delivering multi-domain security solutions for smart cities, airports, utilities, and critical infrastructure
- Show strong exposure to Physical Security Systems, AI & Analytics Platforms, IoT/Edge Computing & Cloud Platforms, and Command-and-Control/PSIM Platforms
- Maintain a solid grasp of network architectures, APIs, and data integration standards
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
- Articulate the future of secure, connected infrastructure with a strategic mindset
- Lead large, multi-vendor, multi-disciplinary environments effectively
