Job description
The role manages a portfolio of Small Enterprise (SE) banking relationships with full responsibility for customer relationship management, revenue enhancement, and portfolio quality. It includes originating new SE relationships, sourcing new-to-bank customers, and generating business from walk-ins. The position requires meeting all borrowing and non-borrowing needs across target segments including borrowers, transactors, and depositors. The mandate covers improving share of wallet, serving as primary bank, cross-selling a complete range of banking products, conducting annual and periodic credit facility reviews, recommending facilities in line with credit policy, and ensuring documentation control, regular client visits, stock inspections, formal credit checks, and monitoring customer conduct. The role ensures adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements including KYC, AML, due diligence, and anti–money laundering procedures. It requires proactive market screening for NTB opportunities, liaison with internal stakeholders including Risk Management and business unit leaders, and maintaining acceptable SE portfolio quality while achieving financial and non-financial targets.

Key responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of SE relationships and originate new SE relationships.
- Source new-to-bank customers and generate walk-in business.
- Enhance relationship revenue by cross-selling a full range of banking products.
- Assume full ownership of customer relationship management for assigned accounts.
- Conduct annual and periodic credit facility reviews and recommend appropriate facilities.
- Monitor customer account conduct and rectify credit-related issues promptly.
- Implement and maintain control aspects including documentation, client visits, call reports, stock inspections, and credit checks.
- Maintain acceptable SE portfolio quality and ensure due diligence standards.
- Screen the market for new-to-bank opportunities.
- Liaise internally with Risk Management, business units, and enablers to achieve objectives.
- Adhere to KYC, AML, and compliance policies.
- Provide regular updates to the branch manager and regional SE manager.
- Achieve assigned financial and non-financial targets.
Experience & skills
- Possess banking sales and service experience with strong relationship management capabilities.
- Hold advanced vocational knowhow in credit, trade, and operating systems.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant banking experience in local or international markets.
- Hold an MBA or CA, or be a graduate with sufficient relevant experience.
- Maintain strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and effective teamwork abilities.
