Job description
The Head of Equity Sales / Equity Sales Specialist role is a mid-to-senior-level position within a regional banking institution focused on Equity Sales and Equity Sales Trading across GCC and Frontier Market equities. The role is responsible for covering a product set that includes equities from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, requiring deep understanding of regional capital markets and trading environments. The position involves managing equity sales activities, executing client-facing trading strategies, and supporting institutional and high-net-worth clients with market insights and trade execution across multiple exchanges. The role requires strong knowledge of GCC regulatory frameworks, including exchange rules, liquidity requirements, settlement processes, trading limits, reporting obligations, and compliance with AML and KYC standards across multiple jurisdictions. It involves analyzing local market trends, macroeconomic drivers, and regional economic conditions that influence equity pricing and investment flows. The position reports directly to the Head of Debt & Equity Sales & Trading and offers significant growth potential within the investment banking division. The role requires collaboration with internal trading desks, research teams, and compliance units to ensure accurate execution and regulatory adherence. Arabic language skills are considered an advantage for client interaction and regional market coverage.

Key responsibilities
- Execute equity sales and trading activities across GCC and Frontier Market equities, ensuring efficient trade execution and alignment with client investment strategies.
- Provide clients with market insights, equity research perspectives, and trading recommendations based on regional market trends and economic drivers.
- Manage client relationships within institutional equity sales, ensuring high-quality service delivery and responsiveness to trading requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GCC regulatory frameworks including exchange rules, liquidity requirements, settlement processes, trading limits, and reporting obligations.
- Apply AML and KYC standards across client onboarding and transaction processes to ensure full regulatory compliance in all jurisdictions.
- Monitor and analyze equity market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and regional developments to support trading decisions and client advisory services.
- Collaborate with internal trading, research, and compliance teams to ensure seamless execution of equity transactions and adherence to internal policies.
- Support senior leadership by reporting market activity, client flows, and trading performance across GCC and Frontier Markets.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate experience in equity sales, equity trading, or investment banking within GCC or frontier market equities environments.
- Possess strong understanding of GCC capital markets including exchanges in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
- Apply knowledge of trading processes including liquidity management, settlement systems, trading limits, and market microstructure.
- Understand and comply with AML and KYC regulations across regional financial markets and ensure adherence in client and transaction processes.
- Analyze financial markets, equity pricing, macroeconomic drivers, and regional economic trends affecting investment decisions.
- Demonstrate strong client relationship management skills within institutional equity sales environments.
- Exhibit ability to work in fast-paced capital markets environments under senior leadership in investment banking structures.
- Possess Arabic language skills (advantageous) to support regional client engagement and communication.
