The Team Leader – Engineering at Zabeel House the Greens by Jumeirah is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring optimal functionality of all technical systems and infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of guest service and operational excellence. The role involves motivating and guiding the engineering team to achieve departmental and organizational goals, leading by example with integrity, honesty, and professionalism. Responsibilities include developing and implementing work timelines, delegating tasks effectively, briefing staff on duties across multiple operational areas, and ensuring seamless coordination with other departments. The Team Leader manages stock, inventories, vendor directories, and contract agreements, overseeing processes related to vendor registration, code creation, price updates, and purchase order submissions while ensuring accurate expense allocation. Additionally, the position requires compiling duty rosters, preparing reports, maintaining filing systems, and addressing operational challenges proactively. This role is central to creating a safe, efficient, and guest-focused environment, contributing to Zabeel House’s brand promise of inventive, design-led, and culturally inspired hospitality experiences. Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations and ensure all technical systems are maintained to optimal standards
- Motivate, guide, and lead the engineering team by example, promoting integrity, honesty, and professionalism
- Develop and implement timelines, delegate tasks, and brief staff on duties across various departments
- Ensure personnel, clients, and guests are greeted and attended to professionally and discreetly
- Compile duty rosters, advise on changes, and manage staff scheduling effectively
- Prepare reports, maintain filing systems, and ensure accurate documentation of all engineering activities
- Manage stock, inventories, vendor directories, and contract agreements for the engineering department
- Oversee vendor registration processes, code creation, price updates, and submission of purchase orders with accurate expense allocation
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operational workflows and technical support for hotel activities
- Monitor and address technical issues proactively to minimize disruptions to hotel operations
Experience & skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering operations within an international hospitality company
- Basic computer knowledge with intermediate technical know-how relevant to hotel engineering
- Excellent listening skills and strong customer orientation
- Ability to adapt to a culturally diverse work environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in supervising and coordinating teams
