Job description
The Senior Officer – Procurement (Ground Handling Services) is responsible for detailed analysis and processing of high-impact non-aircraft procurement products and services in the aviation sector. The role includes preparing RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents, managing contract lifecycle actions including amendments, renewals, and extensions, reviewing vendor prequalification documentation, conducting financial evaluations, supporting vendor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policies. The officer produces performance dashboards, identifies opportunities to enhance business process efficiency, provides first-level support for procurement systems, liaises with business units for technical evaluation of proposals, facilitates procurement system training for end users, and maintains all records and documentation across the procurement cycle.

Key responsibilities
- Review high-impact procurement products/services and prepare RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents
- Act as focal point for internal and external data requests and contribute to departmental performance reporting
- Produce weekly and monthly dashboards analyzing procurement performance and KPIs
- Identify process improvement opportunities and resolve application functionality issues
- Review vendor performance and manage contract amendments, renewals, and extensions
- Oversee vendor prequalification process ensuring adherence to approved policies
- Perform financial evaluation of proposals and present findings to approvers
- Negotiate with vendors under supervision to improve service offerings or reduce fees/project duration
- Support expansion and management of approved vendor list and supplier relationship management
- Manage incoming documentation related to contract performance and ensure compliance with regulations
- Liaise with stakeholders to conduct technical evaluation of shortlisted proposals
- Ensure timely preparation of award documentation including purchase orders and signed contracts
- Facilitate training sessions for end users on approved procurement systems and processes
- Maintain records and documentation for all phases of the procurement cycle
Experience & skills
- 6–8 years of experience in procurement within the aviation industry, preferably in ground handling services
- Bachelor's Degree
- Specialized training in Procurement/Supply Chain Certification (CIPS or similar)
- Completed IATA SGHA training
- Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage
- Operational knowledge in aviation advantageous
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, Access, BI, Excel, Crystal Report, Airpas, and procurement ERP systems
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence skills
- Expertise in negotiating Ground Handling Agreements
