Job description
The Specialist Commissioning Engineer β HVAC (Wellhead Towers Subsea Cable & Piping) is responsible for leading commissioning activities for HVAC systems and associated mechanical and infrastructure systems within offshore oil and gas facilities, including wellhead towers, subsea cable systems, and subsea piping systems. The role is based in Abu Dhabi with rotational offshore assignments across client offices, contractor offices, fabrication yards, and offshore sites. The engineer operates within large-scale EPC/FEED mega projects exceeding USD 1 billion, ensuring full system readiness, integration, testing, validation, and handover of HVAC and related mechanical systems. The role requires extensive experience in oil and gas commissioning, including brownfield modification projects, offshore platform environments, and ADNOC project execution standards. Responsibilities include planning and executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, managing system completion processes, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across fabrication and offshore environments, managing punch lists and system readiness tracking, and ensuring successful startup and handover of systems. The position requires strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, offshore engineering environments, and integrated mechanical system performance verification, with a focus on ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical oil and gas infrastructure.

Key responsibilities
- Lead HVAC commissioning activities for offshore wellhead towers and associated subsea cable and piping systems.
- Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities for mechanical and HVAC systems in offshore oil and gas facilities.
- Ensure system readiness, integration, testing, and validation across EPC and FEED project phases.
- Manage system completion processes, including punch list tracking and resolution.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across client offices, contractor offices, fabrication yards, and offshore sites.
- Support brownfield modification projects and ensure compliance with ADNOC project requirements.
- Verify engineering compliance and system performance against design and operational standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams to ensure safe and efficient commissioning execution.
- Support handover and operational readiness of HVAC and mechanical systems in offshore environments.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout commissioning activities.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 17+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- At least 5+ years of experience in ADNOC projects.
- Minimum 5+ years in a similar commissioning role on mega EPC/FEED projects exceeding USD 1 billion.
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering is mandatory.
- Experience in HVAC commissioning for offshore platforms or wellhead towers.
- Experience with subsea cable and piping systems in oil and gas environments.
- Experience in brownfield modification projects is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of offshore commissioning processes and system completion management.
- Ability to work in rotational offshore environments (6 weeks on / 3 weeks off).
- Strong technical problem-solving and coordination skills in large-scale oil and gas projects.
