Job description
The Quality & Hygiene Officer at Rixos Murjana, King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia, is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, quality management, and environmental sustainability across all hotel operations. The role involves monitoring and enforcing compliance with ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 9001 (Total Quality Management System), ISO 10002 (Customer Satisfaction), EN 15288 (Swimming Safety), GSTC recognized sustainability standards, and OHSMS where applicable. The officer conducts regular audits, initiates corrective actions, identifies root causes, and implements solutions to prevent recurrence. Responsibilities extend to food safety and hygiene management in all hotel areas including kitchens, F&B units, SPA, rooms, laundry, Rixy Club, and vendor sites, with training programs to ensure continuous improvement. The officer monitors environmental initiatives such as waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation, and ensures swimming safety compliance under EN 15288. They also perform quality assurance activities by analyzing service performance scores, collaborating with department heads on improvements, providing feedback through data and root cause analysis, and leading HACCP meetings. The role requires delivering technical and operational training to relevant teams and supporting sustainability and customer satisfaction initiatives, all within a luxury 5-star hotel context.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 10002, EN 15288, GSTC sustainability standards, and OHSMS as required.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to documented processes and procedures, initiating corrective actions and preventive solutions.
- Develop, implement, and manage food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure adherence to ISO 22000 standards.
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions and maintain training records for continuous improvement.
- Perform regular inspections of receiving areas, stores, kitchens, F&B units, SPA, rooms, laundry, Rixy Club, and other relevant hotel areas.
- Conduct vendor inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Lead and provide updates in HACCP meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination in food safety management.
- Monitor and analyze service performance scores, identify root causes, and provide improvement suggestions to department heads.
- Oversee environmental management initiatives including waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation programs.
- Collaborate with departments to implement customer satisfaction and sustainability improvements.
- Ensure compliance with EN 15288 standards for swimming safety and collaborate with relevant departments to maintain recreational safety.
- Conduct technical and operational training related to food safety, quality management, and hotel procedures.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine, applied science, or relevant academic study.
- Certified ISO 22000 lead auditor (mandatory).
- Certified ISO 9001 (preferred).
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in food safety and hygiene management within luxury 5-star properties.
- Sustainability experience (preferred).
- Preferably Saudi female candidate.
