Job description
The Technical Engineer β Civil at Meraki Integrated Contracting in Dubai is responsible for ensuring the technical and structural integrity of commercial and residential construction projects. The role includes reviewing and commenting on PQD documents, material submittals with compliance statements, and internal and external shop drawings, including rebar drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS). The engineer maintains engineering submission logs and rebar call-off logs aligned with the baseline program, prepares technical packages for procurement coordination with contractors and suppliers, and coordinates with consultants, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality-compliant submissions. Periodical site visits are conducted as required, and the engineer handles multiple projects from initiation to handover while adhering to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities
- Review and comment on PQD documents, material submittals with compliance statements, and internal/external shop drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Review and provide feedback on rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS) for structural integrity and compliance.
- Maintain engineering submission logs and rebar call-off logs in alignment with the project baseline programme.
- Prepare technical packages for submission to the procurement team to finalize contractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate engineering submissions and follow-ups with project consultants, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely approvals.
- Conduct periodic site visits as required to monitor project progress and adherence to technical standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing all technical aspects from initiation to handover without delays or pending issues.
- Ensure all project activities comply with company quality standards and UAE construction regulations.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5β7 years of UAE experience in commercial and residential mid/high-rise building projects within a contracting company as a Senior Technical Engineer.
- Bachelorβs degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with >75% or 7.5 CGPA.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction and structural engineering processes.
- Experience in reviewing PQDs, material submittals, shop drawings, and BBS.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain detailed documentation, and coordinate across stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, solution-focused, and able to adapt to changing project demands.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for liaising with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
