Job description
Database environments across SOOR's public and private sector projects need someone who treats security and performance as one problem rather than two, and that is what this role is built to solve. You start with current-state assessments of existing databases, identifying security gaps and improvement opportunities before anything else gets touched. Installation, configuration and ongoing administration of enterprise database platforms sit at the center of the job, alongside encryption work covering Transparent Data Encryption and equivalent technologies for data at rest and in transit. National Cybersecurity Authority controls and internal security policies shape every configuration decision made along the way. Performance, availability and security all get monitored continuously, with upgrades, patching, migrations and version management handled as part of the regular cycle. Backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions fall under the same remit, keeping systems resilient when something goes wrong. User access, roles and privileges get managed carefully, and documentation follows close behind covering implementation guides, SOPs and security records. Cybersecurity, infrastructure, application and project teams all work alongside this role whenever a secure database solution needs building.
