The General Counsel at AIQ oversees and directs the Legal, Governance & Compliance function for an Abu Dhabi-based AI joint venture between Presight and ADNOC that develops, commercializes, and deploys artificial intelligence technologies for the energy sector. The role includes planning, leading, and implementing legal, governance, compliance, and ESG strategies aligned with AIQ’s mission, national AI strategies, sustainability priorities, and organizational objectives. The position requires establishing delegating authority frameworks, enhancing the AIQ governance model, managing policies and procedures, administering ESG initiatives, and overseeing ISO certification. The role includes acting as Board Secretary, managing Board and Management committees, ensuring timely resolutions and approvals, negotiating key transactions involving AI, cloud, at-the-edge solutions, on-prem software, SaaS, PaaS, licensing, and data, and managing legal risks. Responsibilities further include overseeing intellectual property protection and IP portfolio management, monitoring regulatory laws and technological legislation, developing regulatory training for stakeholders, and managing compliance across all divisions to ensure lawful operations. The role includes allocating and supervising team activities, managing relationships with shareholders, Board of Directors, and stakeholders, and overseeing the Legal, Governance & Compliance budget and related processes.
