Job description
The Director — Corporate Origination and Business Development at Mashreq Bank is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new borrowing corporate relationships within the Middle Market Segment (annual revenue between AED 250 million and AED 1 billion) in alignment with Mashreq’s strategic growth objectives. The role involves developing proposition strategies, conducting competition analysis, implementing focused group approaches, and designing service delivery and customer experience models that align with the bank’s broader product and risk frameworks. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams across risk, payments, trade, retail, SME, and private banking divisions to build integrated client solutions. The Director acts as a senior ambassador for Mashreq Bank, cultivating relationships with key clients and business introducers in the community, managing the entire credit process from proposal to approval and onboarding, and ensuring robust risk and compliance controls are maintained. Additional responsibilities include developing business strategies, tracking deal flow, coordinating tactical campaigns, managing referral models with partners, and contributing to cross-sell opportunities across business units. The role demands a strategic, results-driven professional with deep knowledge of corporate banking products, strong analytical and leadership abilities, and a mature commercial approach suited to the dynamic UAE market.

Key responsibilities
- Prospect, identify, and onboard new corporate borrowing relationships in the Middle Market segment (AED 250MM–1BN revenue)
- Serve as an ambassador for Mashreq Bank in the local business community, originating and delivering corporate banking products and services
- Identify and develop key contacts at potential client companies to establish strong relationships
- Analyze client financial needs and propose innovative deal structures in collaboration with sector and product partners
- Manage the full credit process including proposal preparation, approval acquisition, documentation, and onboarding
- Achieve business targets related to new-to-bank growth, profitability, deposits, income, and cross-selling
- Ensure all risk management, control, and compliance measures are followed in line with bank policies
- Develop and execute proposition strategies, competition analyses, and customer experience models
- Coordinate with marketing, finance, and operations to execute promotional and tactical business campaigns
- Monitor deal flow and prepare business reports for management tracking and performance evaluation
- Formulate referral models with internal and external partners and manage intermediary relationships
- Conduct regular competitor intelligence to identify new opportunities and improve existing propositions
- Collaborate with system development teams to align processes and platforms with business requirements
- Contribute to policy formulation and ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance guidelines
Experience & skills
- Possess at least 8 years of banking experience in business development, credit, and relationship management, including 2 years in a similar UAE-based role
- Hold a university-level education, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrate strong credit analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of corporate banking products
- Show proven experience in developing and managing client relationships within the Middle Market segment
- Exhibit strong commercial orientation with leadership and networking abilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, analytics, and web-based tools
- Show innovative thinking with the ability to identify client needs and develop tailored solutions
