Job description
The Associate Director – Careem Box is a senior leadership role within Careem’s New Ventures team, responsible for owning the full P&L and end-to-end strategic and operational performance of Careem Box, the company’s B2C delivery service, across the UAE and Jordan. Careem Box enables customers to send, receive, and shop for items seamlessly through the Careem app. The role focuses on driving growth, optimizing unit economics, scaling operations, and delivering ambitious commercial targets in fast-paced, complex markets. The position requires defining and executing high-impact market strategies to improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and lifetime value while continuously improving delivery efficiency, cost-to-serve, speed, and reliability. The Associate Director leads commercial and strategic partnerships to unlock new demand channels, enhance value propositions for customers and couriers, and differentiate Careem Box in the regional delivery ecosystem. The role works cross-functionally with Product, Data, Marketing, Growth, Finance, Legal, and Care teams to launch new capabilities, remove operational barriers, and ensure seamless execution. It also represents Careem externally, managing relationships with regulators, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders to ensure compliance with local laws and sustainable market operations, while leveraging data and insights to guide strategic decisions and resource allocation.

Key responsibilities
- Own full P&L responsibility for Careem Box operations across the UAE and Jordan, delivering growth and profitability targets
- Define and execute market strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and lifetime value
- Optimize unit economics by improving platform efficiency, cost-to-serve, and operational scalability
- Lead commercial and strategic partnerships to unlock new demand channels and enhance the Careem Box value proposition
- Drive operational excellence by improving delivery speed, reliability, and overall service quality across markets
- Collaborate with Product, Data, Marketing, Growth, Finance, Legal, and Care teams to launch new capabilities and resolve operational challenges
- Leverage data, analytics, and insights to monitor performance, identify trends, and guide strategic decision-making
- Influence cross-functional priorities to align teams around shared business objectives
- Represent Careem externally with regulators, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders to support growth and ensure legal and regulatory compliance
- Continuously identify new growth levers, scaling opportunities, and differentiation strategies for Careem Box
Experience & skills
- Proven experience with full P&L ownership and driving commercial performance
- Strong business acumen with ability to connect strategic vision to financial impact
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Structured problem-solving capability with a strong commercial mindset
